The South West Group lobbies and advocates for regional priorities that provide the greatest benefit to the member Councils and communities in the South West Metropolitan Region.

Regional priorities are determined annually as a key input into the preparation of Federal and State Government budget submissions that aim to attract funding for major projects, infrastructure and services.

Regional priorities determined by the South West Group are identified and developed through a consultative process between the Board and its Committees, together with input from member Councils, Members of Parliament, State Government agencies, industry groups, business associations and key stakeholders as required.

Regional priorities may require the development of business cases to provide justification for the level of investment in regional projects in terms of costs verses benefits.

Regional priorities can be grouped into Projects and Activities.
