Joint City of Rockingham and City of Kota Kinabalu Friendship City Agreement
The strategic objective of the Sabah WA Trade Centre (SWATC) initiative is to stimulate bilateral trade. Resources have been secured to fund the initiative for an initial three year period commencing 2008.
The Department of Industry and resources has agreed to support the operation of SWATC in Kota Kinabalu incorporating the employment of a Trade Facilitator and will provide their financial contribution through the South West Group and its affiliated body, the South West Corridor Development Foundation Inc (SWCDeF).
The South West Group will assist fund the project as well as administering the project through SWCDeF. The City of Rockingham through its Friendship City agreement with the City of Kota Kinabalu (DBKK) will also support the project.
